Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 28,#GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US). This is immediately following the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday which kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Help support local wildlife this #GivingTuesday, November 28th! Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season by uniting people around the globe and encouraging contributions to important causes. Last year more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate.
The Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center is dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of sick, injured and orphaned animals. The center is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is capable of caring for up to 400 animals at a time. In the event of an oil spill, our trained volunteers are on call 24 hours a day to respond to helping the wildlife affected.
This year, we ask that you use #GivingTuesday to help support the care of orphaned, sick and injured native wildlife here in Orange County, California by donating suggested dollar amounts for specific items needed such as food and medicine for the animals. For example, a donation of $40 dollars will pay for a new heating pad needed to keep baby animals warm or a $10 donation supplies fish to feed a pelican for a day.
The Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funded by donations from the public. In order to continue our lifesaving work, we need your help! Thank you for caring about the animals in our community!
Examples/Suggested Donation Amounts:
· $10 = Fish for a Pelican for 1 day · $25 = Medication for an animal for 1 day · $32 = Case of fish · $40 = Heating pad to warm baby animals · $110 = Food & medication for an owl for 4 days · Other – any amount is greatly appreciated
